Mar. 17th, 2010 11:58 amHappy St. Patrick's Day!
I'm supposed to go to a screening of The Runaways tonight, but I haven't heard anything about it in about a week, so...I'm not sure what my plans are for tonight. SIGH.
Anyways,
girl_wonder was taking drabble requests, and I figured, 'eh, why not do the same?' SO! Give me character/pairing and a prompt, and I will throw something ficcy at you. May be a drabble, will probably be a little more.
OH! and the fabulous
jamesinboot has pointed out the shiny and pretty new icons LJ is using in the default comments pages. I LOVE THEM. Another reason for you to get rid of your customized comment page! :D

Date: 2010-03-23 09:40 pm (UTC)The night before his first game, he'd texted his parents, letting them know that they should make sure to be at home to watch. The next day, in the locker room (trying not to vomit all over Straka, or Nylander, or, god forbid, a fucking legend like Jagr), Brandon was just lacing up his skates when one of the equipment guys walked in and said, "Hey, Dubinsky? You got a package."
The room quieted a little, everyone watching him, and Brandon fought to look nonchalant as he walked over to take it. A plain white box, and when Brandon opened the card attached, it said, "We're so proud of you, honey. Love, Mom and Dad." Brandon had a bad feeling, but he opened the box anyways and nearly sank through the floor in embarrassment. A dozen cupcakes, all adorned with hockey-playing bears.
"Isn't that adorable?" Avery said, smirking. "Well, aren't you going to share, Cupcake?"
Despite his best efforts against it - or, more likely, because of them - the nickname stuck.
