I would say that (at least the ones I'm familiar with) they are BFF on top of being totally in love. There's also a really striking level of devotion between all those couples, more so than what you might normally see.

I would say your observations are correct! I always knew I had a BFF kink, but making this list, I was struck by how many of the pairings also had the whole 'our love spans space and time' thing going for them, too. I guess I'm really just a big schmoopy romantic at heart. :D
