Maggie does an EXCELLENT job of pointing out how fucked-up the J2 story set in the aftermath of the Haiti earthquake is.

no, you read that right. J2 story. Haiti earthquake. Because nothing says romance like the deaths of hundreds of thousands of people.

yeah I read maybe three quotes in Maggie's post and was like RAGE BLACKOUT. do I want to read about doctor Jensen running from his past? yeah maybe a little. I mean I've watched Beyond Borders so many times it's ridiculous. but why Haiti? why a real life tragedy? this same exact story could have been told using some fictional event. UGH. WHY DID NO ONE SUGGEST THIS?

I mean fuck. I'm sure the red cross will mobilize during the zombie apocalypse. make that the setting. you can still have doctors and photojournalists. and you know. you can not use a tragedy that is still being dealt with today. grrrargh.

I read a couple of quotes, thought 'WTF?!?!', went to the post, read her notes about changing some things for dramatic effect (lolz sorry Haiti, your suffering doesn't suit my fic) and how she was inspired while watching the news (BEST IDEA EVER. SHE ACTUALLY SAID THAT), raged and ranted, calmed a little, went back to Maggie's post to read the rest of the quotes, and completely lost it again.

WHY, REG, WHY?!?!

and really. She seemed to have a large support system for this fic. Nobody thought it was hinky? Really? ugh.
