Quick question: has anyone ever been to the airport in Halifax?

I must have been....yes! Yes I was. It was small, but not as small as the International Gate in Las Vegas. FOR REALS.

You world traveler! I've never been to the International Gate at Vegas. hmm. Is it bigger than BWI?

AHAHAH YES. I just like hanging out in airports.

Hmmmmm I don't really remember noting Baltimore Airport as anything in particular, so I'm guessing it was pretty normal airport-sized. Srsly, the Internat'l Vegas Gate was like a shack in the middle of nowhere. I was so baffled, ahahah.

I'm pretty sure the Halifax airport was smaller than BWI. It was one of those one-floor dealies, no escalators or anything. As far as I remember, ahahah!

When we win the lottery, we can hang out in airports together! and I can buy my sister expensive snowglobes, and you can...I don't know. Steal people's change. Because we'll be rich, so we need to be eccentric, too.

ooh, ok. um. Have you ever been to Ronald Reagan in DC? Is it like that?

Yes!

[identity profile] cunningplan.livejournal.com 2009-02-17 05:06 am (UTC)(link)
yes.

oh, you're looking for more info? :D
um, lets see, it's pretty small; two levels, two Tim Hortons, a Starbucks, handful of fast food places, a few sit-down bar/restaurants, a book store, a couple of variety stores/newsstands. from what i remember, anyway. i mean, it's not tiny, there's enough there that if you're delayed you'll be bored but not out-of-your-mind bored (*cough*unlike Victoria B.C.'s airport*cough*)

How does it compare to other airports? um. Have you been to Reagan or Macarthur? Is it bigger than those?

[identity profile] cathybites.livejournal.com 2009-02-17 05:14 am (UTC)(link)
smartass. :P

and, awesome! That's pretty much exactly what I was looking for. :D

Oh, man, I'm so bad at judging that stuff because I'm always in a BLIND RUSH from point A to point B. I'd consider it a pretty small, easy-to-navigate airport, in general though! (Sorry not to include any info in my first comment... wasn't sure what you were wondering about!)

It is of moderate size, with some fairly generic shops and restaurants.

It is about half an hour from Halifax, which is the only remotely interesting place nearby. It was built well inland to avoid the fogs off the ocean, but clearing the land for the airport produced conditions that induced fogs. There are also many snowstorms in the winter. I would bring good books or a laptop in case there is a long wait.

The only recent crash was a cargo 747 loaded with lobsters and riding mowers that was heading for Nigeria.

ooh, thank you for the details!

and now I have this picture in my head of lobsters making their escape atop John Deeres.
