soooo...I kind of love Glee a lot. A LOT. I seriously clapped my hands in. well. GLEE over it. Although, as much as I think Finn and Rachel are adorable, I really hope the other kids get some shinetime of their own. I mean, yay for inclusiveness, but not if they're going to be background comedic props.


and I think this means my TV watching schedule is set.

huh. With Pushing Daisies and Reaper gone (SOB), my schedule is kind of thin. Although, it's a bit deceptive because I haven't included all the hockey I watch: 82 games, plus pre- and post-(knock on wood) season. That's going to take up most of my time, I think.

First, to get it out of the way:

Tonight an all new Ace of Cakes featuring an evil robot cake from Dr. WHO, Tom Brady, and paintball shenanigans. Tune in tonight at 10PM on Food Network.

I figured some of you might be interested. XD

Second, Alaya Dawn Johnson has written An Open Letter to Eric Kripke, which is a fantastic critique of the show's racial shortcomings. As can be sadly expected, read the comments with caution because people are fuckwits. I can't decide which one I like better, the commentor who says If black people would stop talking about race, so would everyone else. (because that's what's causing racism in America - all the black people!) or the one who says But there are more black women on the show than there are Asian women, Swedish women, Russian women, Hispanic women, etc. (I like how she snuck Swedes and Russians in there because, OMG. They're so oppressed, too. I'm surprised she didn't pull the old, 'I don't care if someone is black, white, yellow, or purple!' line.)

What really struck a chord with me about this particular essay, more than others, is that Ms. Johnson is clearly a *fan* of the show. No, she's not happy about how they've treated black men, but the reason she's upset is because she loves the show and wants it to be better than it is.
